Mini-Potters, Beautiful Princesses, and the lil' avengers...Halloween is coming!

In just a few weeks, the streets around Knoxville are going to be filled with beautiful princesses, mini-potters, and the next set of avengers. However, don’t let your kids be tricked this Halloween season by the creepy goblins, mysterious ghouls, and the vampires with red eyes (If they are amber, you should be safe.J), and we’re not talking about the “good” kind of Halloween monsters either.

Child abduction is far more terrifying than any scary costume or haunted house, and is the absolute last thing on any kid or parents mind. Yet, just like anything, it is better to be over-prepared than under-prepared much like a fire escape plan, or knowing CPR. Parents should review basic guidelines with their children before going Trick-or-Treating for Halloween, and should try to enroll into a child protection class such as “See-n-Flee” at your local Tiger-Rock Academy before the big day. Here are some great topics for parents to review with their kids:
1. Always stay with your parent or an adult.
2. Be sure to never enter a stranger’s home.
3. Remember to take a flash light or glow sticks with you.
4. Look both ways before crossing the street. Never cut through somebody’s yard.
5. Before eating any of your candy, always have mom & dad check it thoroughly.
6. Trick or Treat in familiar neighborhoods.
7. Never approach a stranger’s car.
8. Make sure your costume fits properly to avoid tripping and falling.
9.  Know mom and dad’s telephone number, your address, and how to call 9-1-1 for help.
10.  Attend a See-n-Flee Child Safety Seminar at your local Tiger-Rock Academy.

See-n-Flee” uses effective escape skills that are turned into fun types of games and scenarios for children. For more information, or to schedule your seminar for your Girl/Boy Scout Troop, Youth Group, PTA event, etc., please call (865) 247-4437 or visit www.WestKnoxTigerRock.com. While your there, click on social media to sign up to come to our Halloween party October 22nd. Everyone is welcome!
