For the week of: 11/11-11/16
Cycle Tenet: "Integrity, I have the moral courage to make my actions consistent with my knowledge of right or wrong."

Good Afternoon,

This is week #5 of 9 in our current training cycle for TaeKwonDo, and week #2 of 10 in Jiu-Jitsu.

Newsletter Highlights:

  1. Goals for the week
  2. Closed Saturday (11/16) for National Championships
  3. Grappling Class Schedule Changes
  4. Tiger-Rock National Championships
  5. Tiger-Rock A.L.L.Y. (Academic Learning & Leadership for Youth)

  7. Upcoming Events
Good Afternoon,

We are in tournament preparation crunch mode for the remainder of the week. We will be focusing on combing all of the concepts that were utilized in the first four weeks of the training cycle including slide kicks, reverse punches, blocking schemes, as well as learning to incorporate them into our TaeKwonDo sparring, one-steps, and forms. Grappling students will continue to learn the new flow drill, as well as submission techniques.

The Kid Grappling Program will not have class on Saturday (11/16) due to TaeKwonDo championships, and instead will have a make-up class on Tuesday at 5:30-6:30. The next few weeks may have more schedule changes due to Mr. Bailey's final exams, and instructor coverage so please stay in touch.

Students will have the opportunity to earn two merit badges this training cycle:
1.) Students that bring in at least 10 non-perishable food items for the Food Drive sponsored by our Tiger-Rock Honors Team. We would prefer that the students do some sort of work/activity i.e. chores, lemonade stand, etc. to earn the money to buy the food. A personal touch of hard work accompanied with kindness can go a long way. PLEASE MAKE SURE MR. BAILEY WRITES YOUR NAME DOWN.
2.) Students will log when they practice at home, and how long they practice (form on Kicksite account). Students must get a Trainer Team members signature every week if they practice at home or not. Upon completion of training cycle, students should reflect on their progress by answering questions about their training that will be fount on the form.
3.) Students should also take the Partners-in-Learning forms by the front desk to their school teacher in order to earn up to three gold stars.

Throwback Thursday: We are excited about our Throwback Thursday Game on our Social Media Sites. Students and Parents will have the opportunity to see all of our trainers, leadership, and honors team members when they were younger. See if we can stump you! Last Week: Mr. Scott Bailey. Check it out on our Facebook and Google+. Like us on Facebook.
